During a fall 2011 fellowship at Coastal Living magazine, Taylor wrote and produced “Friday Find of the Week” blog posts, featuring roundups of home, beauty and fashion finds that fit with the magazine’s commitment to all things coastal. She researched and pitched FOB story ideas, scouted out products to feature and scheduled and assisted on photo shoots.

Taylor worked as an intern at Condé Nast Traveler in early 2011. She researched newsworthy attractions, hotel openings and locally-adored eateries around the world, pitching ideas for the magazine and the blog. She tracked down details, conducted research for feature stories and created trip itineraries for freelancers.

Taylor interned at Los Angeles magazine in the summer of 2010. She fact-checked articles, meticulously verifying every detail and eliminating contradictions. She conducted online database research, compiled information for feature stories and pitched ideas for the magazine and the blog.

As SURFER magazine’s online intern during the summer of 2009, Taylor wrote daily articles for surfermag.com. She tracked down sources and got the scoop on the latest in the surfing world. She covered competitions, equipment innovation, film and television, international incidents, aquatic animals and more.

At Northwestern University, Taylor contributed articles to NorthbyNorthwestern.com and its affiliated quarterly magazine, both Pacemaker Award-winning campus publications. She also collaborated with five other students to investigate a murder conviction and publish a report that raised questions about his ability to commit the crime.
